Disney Goes Defiant: Your Favorite Characters Get An Attitude Makeover

Disney movies have long been beacons of traditional values and mainstream appeal, with most of their iconic characters staying within a fairly narrow mold of design and personality (some would argue too narrow).

Most Disney heroes and heroines fall pretty squarely into adolescence in their depiction, we decided our favorite Disney characters should rebel and exhibit more attitude. What would our favorite princesses and other Disney characters look like with a more overt punk rocker attitude and style makeover? You're about to find out!

This post is a mash-up of designs generated from three community contests run by the DesignCrowd team. We asked designers to give princesses some attitude, and re-imagine any Disney characters as hipsters. We also thought it would be hilarious to see some of our favorites sport grills. See for yourself what our designers came up with in response:

Pimpin' Timon

Snow White hung out with dwarves way before Tyrion made them cool.

Pocahontas is battle-ready.

Frozen Zero – Sub Zero's Girlfriend (Elsa meets Mortal Kombat).

Jasmine's left her Dad's palace behind.

Ariel Got Herself Some Cons for Walking.

.

After the smashing success of "Let it Go", Elsa and Anna try their hand at a new hit single

Pocahontas won't put up with your s**t

Grown up Pluto rolls his own smokes.

Maybe a deja vu from above, but this image of "Sub Frozen" was too good not to share.

Maleficent's diamond teeth sparkle snow white in the sun.

"I find they're so much more authentic when I develop my own film".

Out of Simba, Rapunzel and Sneezy the dwarf, who do you think is most likely to get grills? Which other princess might think diamond encrusted grills are just "so mainstream"? Tell us in the comments below!
