Dear Customers and Designers,

DesignBay now requires that customers prepay design contests.  This means, for all new design contests, customers must now deposit their full budget with DesignBay at the beginning of the project.  This will help protect designer rights, attract higher quality designers and mean customers get more designs for each project as designers can be confident full payment (and not just the base payments) will be made.

Benefits for Designers
  • Guaranteed payment - A winner will always be chosen
  • More participation payments - You will get more base payments on larger projects
  • More feedback - Customers will be committed to the process and more likely to provide feedback

Benefits for Customers
  • 45% more designs - you'll get more designs (prepaid contests receive 45% more submissions than non-prepaid)
  • Better designs - prepaid contests attract higher calibre of designer
  • Simpler process - you no longer need to decide 'should I prepay or should I not?'
  • More committed - depositing your budget commits you to the process and means you will engage more with designers (an important part of the creative process)

Contests currently open with non-prepaid budgets will not be required to deposit their budget - but it is highly recommended as these projects will be less attractive to designers now that all new projects are prepaid.

We look forward to many new prepaid contests, increased feedback from customers, more base/participation payments and, of course, a winner on every project!

Thanks,

The DesignBay Team
