Professional sports is no doubt one of the most demanding and competitive careers a person can choose for themselves. With millions of dollars and global fame on the line, the win is all that matters for a team. And this competitiveness doesn't only happen on the field.
Merchandise and branding are hugely important for sports teams in the big leagues. For example, Forbes estimates that a mind-blowing US$661 million of the New York Yankee's total value (an equally staggering US$3,200 M) is directly attributable to its brand identity.
And what could be more important to a successful brand than the perfect logo? We ran several contests, challenging our designers to work on the brand identity of the LA Clippers and Golden State Warriors of the NBA, as well as Australian NRL and AFL Premiership teams, Major League Baseball's Chicago Cubs, and soccer giant Manchester United. Because winning is not always achieved on the field, we also took a stab at Lance Armstrong's Livestrong Foundation, which supports people living with cancer.
