On 12-12-12, the finalists and winners of the TimesSquare.com $10,000 logo design contest were announced on TimesSquare.com.
A colorful, typographic-driven design by Serbian graphic designer Jovan took out the top place and the $5,000 cash prize. Describing his design, Jovan said, "The lines presents moving (people, vehicles, energy...). [The] colors are lights".
The logo design contest attracted 1,300 designers from around the world and generated 5,845 logo design submissions, a global crowdsourcing record for a client-run online logo design contest. The large cash prize and high volume of design submissions contest caught the attention of the press and interest from bloggers in the design community including Fuel Your Creativity and UK design institute idesigni blog reporting the contest launch.
The client, Lorenzo Tartamella, a Canadian enterpreneur and founder of TimesSquare.com said, "We needed to find a more creative approach to procuring a new logo design [for our site]. I wanted the process to be easy, the designs ideas to be more creative and the design talent to be global so I chose DesignCrowd to launch my contest. The process has exceeded our expectations and the world record is icing on the cake after a great experience."

Congratulations to Jovan, and to Brazilian designer Reiiz, ctrl+n from Pakistan, Lemoncrush from the UK and Omee from India, who won individual cash prizes totalling $2,000. In addition to the top 5 cash prizes, 50 payments were awarded to the next top 60 designers totalling $3,000 in participation payments.
